Found in Colombia and Venezuela on steep roadbanks at elevations around 1800 meters as a large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with erect, cane-like stems becoming fractiflex apically and enveloped almost completely by green, tubular, leaf beasring sheaths and carrying plicate, lightly attenuate apically leaves that are convex on the upper side with somewhat revolute margins that blooms on a terminal, racemose, 1 to 3 successively 3 to 6 flowered, fractiflex rachis inflorecence with large floral bracts
