Found in Sulawesi in shady riverine forests on limestone and ultrabasic areas at elevations of sea level to 400 meters as a medium sized, hot growing terrestrial with psuedobulbs giving rise to robust shoots with up to 7, plicate leaves that blooms in the spring and fall on an erect, 20" [50 cm] long, successively 1 to 3, to 15 flowered inflorescence carrying flowers that often smell of roses
