Common Name Vanvuuren's Spathoglottis

Found in Sulawesi as a roadside terrestrial at elevations of 500 to 1500 meter as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial that blooms in the spring and fall on an erect, successively 2 to 4, several flowered inflorescence
Similar to S plicata but differs in the less robust growth, fewer leaves, a less crowded inflorescence and petals that are minutely hairy on the inside
