Flower Size 5 1/2" [14cm]

Found in wet montane forests in Peru and Bolivia around 1400 to 1850 meters as a large sized, warm growing epiphyte or occaisional terrestro-lithophyte on steep slopes and rocks with an ovoid, sulcate, ridged pseudobulb with a single, apical, plicate, elliptic-lanceolate, gradually narrows below into the elongate petiolate base, acute leaf that blooms on a pendant, 4" [10 cm] long, racemose, few [4] flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and with large, clasping chartaceous bracts and ovate-triangular, carinate floral bracts with the apex conduplicate-acute all occuring in the winter and spring.
