Common Name The Peruvian Stanhopea
Flower Size 2.8" to 3.6 [7 to 9 cm] long,
Found in Huanuco department of Peru at elevations around 950 to 1000 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with oval, strongly ribbed and furrowed with age pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, coarse, leathery, lanceoalte, plicate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a basal, pendent, to 6" [to 15 cm] long, loosely 5 to 7 flowered inflorescence with large spreading, broadly triangular, acute floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers
