Found in Brazil at elevations of 1000 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, caespitose, cool growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical-oblong, obtuse, tridenticulate, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, distichous to subsecund, laxly, 3.2 to 4.8" [8 to 12 cm] long including the 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long peduncle, successively few, several flowered inflorescence arsing through an acute spathe with cucullate, apiculate floral bracts.
