Common Name The Lax Flowered Stenoptera

Found in Huanuco Peru in higher tropical forests at elevations of 800 to 1100 meters as a large sized, warm to coolgrowing terrestrial with an erect, stout, finely tomentose, densely leaved above stem carrying imbricationg towards the base, gradually smaller above grading into bracts, oblong-lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the clasping base leaves that blooms on a erect, elongate, narrowly cylindrical, to 10.6" [26.5 cm] long, peduncle short, rachis tomentose, loosely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, tomentse exterior, longer than the densely tomentose ovary floral bracts and carrying small, white flowers with a yellow center.
