Common Name Vasquez' Stenia [Bolivian Orchid Enthusiast current]

Found in Peru and Bolivia at elevations around 1800 to 1900 meters on medium sized ,moss covered shrubs close to a stream as a small sized, warm to cool growing caespitose epiphyte with 5 to 7 spatulate-oblanceolate, attenuate acute stiff to subcoriaceous, dark green leaf with a carinate midvein and gradually enlarging from the base from which a laxly subpendant, axillary, to 3" [7.5 cm] long, single flowered scape occurring in the spring that has a single, clasping, funnel-shaped, peduncular bract and then 2 subopposite, dissimilar, unequal floral bracts with the larger basal bract broadly ovate, tubular and acute and the smaller above is lanceolate.
