Found in Yunnan province of China and Thailand on trees in mixed forests at elevations of 1400 to 1700 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with close set, conic pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect leaf that blooms in the spring on an ascending, 5" [12.5 cm] long, to more than 10 flowered inflorescence with 3 to 4 tubular sheaths and narrowly lanceolate, acute floral bracts
