Common Name The Large-Flowered Taeniophyllum

Found in Papua and New Guinea in lowland forests as a small sized, hot to warm growing, leafless epiphyte at elevations of 50 to 600 meters in dense semi-deciduous forest low down on large tree trunks in deep shade where it blooms on a horizontal, from the stem apex, several [7] flowered inflorescence with an extending rhachis over months giving rise to a single or double successively opening, nonresupinate, fragrant, often nocturnal, ephemeral flower occuring in spring through fall.
