Found in Costa Rica in very wet, pluvial and cloud forests at elevations of 1800 to 3200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with caespitose ramicauls carrying narrowly elliptic, acute, acuminate apically, subfalcate, narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms in the late spring and fall on a terminal, terete, racemose, provided with conspicuous bracts, to 4.8" [12 cm] long, 3 to 11 flowered inflorescence carrying yellow to yellow brown, resupinate flowers with brownish stripes
