Found in Zamora-Chinchipe Ecuador at eleavations around 2500 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to small flattened pseudobulbs enveloped by 2 to 3 leaves and carrying a single, apical, thick, elliptic-oblong, obtuse, dehiscent at the base leaf that blooms on a terete peduncle, 1.6" [4 cm] long, rachis short, few flowered inflorescence with a navicular, acute floral bracts
