Found in southern Ecuador in wet montane forests at elevations of 1800 to 2300 meters as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a short, flattened stem carrying distichous, imbricating, coriaceous, ovate, apiculate, conduplicate below into the base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on a terminal or lateral, to 1.2" [3 cm] long, terete few flowered inflorescence with ovate-triangular floral bracts
