Found in Canar province of Ecuador at elevations around 2200 to 3000 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a short stem enveloped completely by imbricating sheaths, branching from the base giving rise to narrowly obovate, acute, apiculate, narrowing towards the base leaves that blooms on a terminal, peduncle to 1.6" [4 cm] long, to 2.8" [7 cm] long overall, flattened to 3 alate,successively single, few flowered inflorescence with ovate, congested, boat-shaped floral bracts
