Found in southwest Western Australia at elevations of 5 to 360 meters in mallee shrubland, heathlands, granite outcrops and winter wet areas as a small to large sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 4.8 to 16" [12 to 40 cm] long, 2 to 15 flowered inflorescence usually with a single, sterile bract.
