Found in Taiwan, Thailand, Java, Malaysia, Lesser Sunda Islands, the Moluccas, the Philippines, Sulawesi and Sumatra along streams on tree trunks at elevations of sealevel to 1000 meters as a medium to giant sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with orange tipped roots, a pendulous, flattened, frequently branched stems enveloped completely by persisitent sheaths and carrying leathery, mostly curved, deeply channeled, acute, abruptly narrowed apically leaves that blooms in the spring on a short to .6" [1.5 cm] long, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence with a rachis that is thickened towards the apex and has not distichous, ovate-triangular, very small floral bracts.
