Found in Yunnan province of China in secondary forests on tree trunks and branches or on limestone rocks at elevations of 700 to 1500 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a arching to pendulous, stout, terete, slightly flattened stem carrying distichous, thick, fleshy, oblong, amplexicaul towards the base, unequally obtusely bilobed leaves that blooms in the later spring on an axillary, .6 to 1" [1.5 to 2.5 cm] long, flattened, successively 1 to 3 flowered, inflorescence with persistent, lax, distichous, fleshy, broadly triangular, conduplicate-concave floral bracts
