Common Name Hennis' Trichopilia [German Orchid Collector 18-1900's]
Flower Size 5" [13 cm]
Found in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations around 1400 to 2500 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with oblong to ovate, laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs becoming longitudinally rugose with age carrying a single, apical, oblong-lanceolate, acute, somewhat twisted leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, inclining to pendant, 3 to 5 flowered, racemose inflorescence carrying 3 to 5 fragrant flowers all held towards the apex.
