Found in Panama at elevations around 700 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an oblong to ovate, strongly laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulb partially enveloped basally by several conduplicate, short-lived sheaths and carrying a single, apical, oval-elliptic, leathery, acute, conduplicate below into the petiole-like base leaf that blooms in the summer on a basal, to 5" [13 cm] long, horizontal to pendant, loosely racemose inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and carrying the 1 to 4, fragrant flowers all towards the apex.
