Common Name Smith's Trichoglottis [Dutch gardener J.J.Smith [Bogor] and botanist in Indonesia early 20th cen.]
Flower Size 1.1" [2.65 cm]
Found in Borneo and Sumatra in fairly open forest, swampy forest or on poor sandstone ridge soils at elevations of sealevel [700] to 1300 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to cool growing, monopodial, scandent epiphyte with a rigid, elliptic, rooting and climbing stem carrying oblong, unequally and obtusely bilobed apically, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the spring and fall on an axillary, .1" [3mm] long, successively one to two flowered inflorescence with small triangular floral bracts carrying fleshy, slightly fragrant flowers.
