Full shade Cool Winterspring

Common Name The Myco-hetertrophic Tropidia

Flower Size 2.2" [5.6 cm]

Found in Borneo in lower montane forests at elevations around 1200 to 1900 meters as a small sized, cool growing myco-hetertrophic terrestrial with a wandering then erect, simple to repeatedly branching stem carrying distant ovate, amplexicaul, ramentaceous sheaths that blooms in the winter and spring on an erect, 1 to 1.4" [2.5 to 3.5 cm] long, lax to subdense, ramentaceous, 6 to 12 flowered inflorescence.

The flowers of this orchid have not opened yet so it is difficult to be absolutely sure if this is actually T saprphytica, but the general plant morphology is correct. It is odd that none of the references make mention of the tubers that are present on this plant.
