Found in Sulawesi in montane forests and plantations on trees and shrubs at elevations of 1200 to 2500 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with an erect, slightly compressed stem carrying narrowly elliptic, green leaves that blooms in the spring on several, 1 to 2 per node, .24 to .4" [.6 to 1cm] long, successively single to 10 flowered inflorescence
