Common Name The Wavy Petaled Vandopsis - In China Bai Hua Ni Wan Dai Lan

Flower Size 1.2 to 1.4" [3 to 3.6 cm]

Found in the eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanmar and southern China on oaks or on shaley soils at elevations of 1500 to 2300 meters as a large sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial with an elongate stem enveloped completely by imbricate, leaf-bearing sheaths carrying oblong, unequally bilobed apically, narrowing slightly towards the clasping base leaves that blooms in the spring on a 6 to 8" [15 to 22.3 cm] long, striate, rigid, bright green, 4 to 8 flowered inflorescence with ovate, obtuse, green bracts carrying fragrant, waxy flowers
