Found in Costa Rica in lowland residual forests at elevations around 70 meters as a large sized, hot growing, viney epiphyte with a thick, elongate, scandent stem carrying elliptic, long acuminate apically, membraneous chartaceous, somewhat cuneate below into the obscurely petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later spring on a 2.2" [5.5 cm] long, successively single to 4 flowered inflorescence with scale-like, ovate to lanceolate, acuminate, concave floral bracts
