Common Name Thwaites' Vanda [English Botanist and plant collector in the Indian subcontinent 1800's]

Flower Size 1.48" [3.7 cm]

Found in southern India and Sri Lanka at elevations around 1000 to 1200 meters as a small sized, cool growing, monopodial epiphyte with a stout stem enveloped below by brown, coriaceous sheaths and carrying towards the apex, thick, coriaceous, distichous, strap-shaped, recurving, apically trilobed, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the spring or fall on an axillary, stout, green, 4" [10 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence with very small floral bracts.
