Common Name or Meaning The Bornean Ventricularia

Found only in Borneo in lowland and lower montane forests at elevations of 200 to 1350 meters as a medium to large sized, pendant, hot to cool growing epiphyte with an elongate, pendant, slender, simple stem carrying several, linear-lanceolate, acute, slightly fleshy, coriaceous, dark olive green, basally clasping and attenuate to the leaf sheaths leaves that blooms in the spring on a 2 flowered, very short, fleshy inflorescence with obtuse, ovate, scale-like, adpressed to the base of the pedicel floral bracts and carrying resupinate flowers held close to the leaf axil.
