Found in Costa Rica and Zamora-Chinchipe Ecuador at elevations around 600 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with narrowly ovate, cylindrical pseudobulbs enveloped basally by non-leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, acute, gradually narrowing into the conduplicate base leaf that blooms in the winter and early spring on a basal, 2.8 to 3.2" [7 to 8 cm] long, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence with simultaneously opening flowers.
