Common Name The Short Inflorescence Xylobium
Flower Size 2 to 3" [5 to 7.5 cm]
Found in the Atlantic forest of the Serra do Mar from Rio state South to Rio Grande do Sul as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with elliptical-ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single apical, plicate, leaf and blooms on a short, basal inflorescence with 4 to 6 flowers clustered at the pseudobulb's base.
