Found in Junin Peru in hot tropical, rainforests at elevations around 280 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with oblong-ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, erect, coriaceous, lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, acute, plicate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an ascending, to 3' [to 90 cm] long, racemose, many flowered inflorescence enveloped below by a few, spathaceous sheaths and has as long or slightly shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
