Found in Sri Lanka in damp woods from 900 to 1250 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with an erect, internoded stem with leafless and leaf bearing sheaths carrying apical, oblong, acute, shiny green face, paler beneath, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, 3 to 5" [7.5 to 12.5 cm] long, 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence with 2, triangular, acute bracts and pubescent, as long as the ovary floral bract.
