Found in the eastern Himalayas, Assam and Thailand in dense subtropical jungles at elevations of 260 to 660 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with a stem carrying a few, oblong-lanceolate, acute, blackish purple, petiolate clasping base leaves that blooms in the later winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, 1 to 1.6" [2.5 to 3.5 cm] long, pubescent becoming densely gladular pubescent above, laxly few flowered inflorescence with 2, lanceolate, glabrous bracts and broadly ovate, bluntly acuminate floral bracts
