Found in Thailand, Malaysia, Java, Sumatra and Borneo in wet swamp and tropical rainforests at elevations of 500 to 700 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, warm growing terrestrial with a branching, fleshy stem carrying several basal, dull purple above, paler beneath, mid rib white, ovate, acute, undulate margined leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, to 4" [to 10 cm] long, sparingly and shortly pilose, few flowered inflorescence with 2 to 3 sterile bracts and thin floral bracts that cover the ovaries.
