Common Name The Erlangen Zootrophion [A town in Germany where the species was cultivated and described]

Flower Size .74" [1.9 cm] long,

Found most likely in Peru without locality as a small sized epiphyte with erect ramicauls carrying a single, more or less erect, coriaceous, elliptic-obovate leaf that blooms in the later summer on a successive from the apex of the ramicaul, peduncle .4" [1 cm] long, slightly curved, generally single flowered inflorescence.

The orchid was discovered in the Botanical garden orchid collection of Erlagen Germany.
