Common Name Breedlove's Pleurothallis [American researcher of the flora of Chiapas current]
Flower Size .2 to .28" [5 to 7 mm] tall
Found in Chiapas state of Mexico and Guatemala in the transition zone between tropical deciduous forests and montane rainforests at elevations around 600 to 1100 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool, pendent growing epiphyte with erect to arcuate, subterete ramicauls with 3 internodes enveloped partially by tubular-infundibuliform, obtuse, evanescent sheaths and carrying a single, apical, fleshy, narrowly lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, acute to subacute, green flushed with purple beneath leaves that blooms in the summer on an apical, 1 to 4 per stem, arising through a triangular, conduplicate, obtuse, carinate, scarious spathe, peduncle terete, .36 to .56" [9 to 14 mm] long, with a bract near the base, racemose, 3/4" to 2.4" [1.8 to 6 cm] long, rachis .4 to 1.6" [1 to 4 cm] long, congested, distichous, almost simultaneously 5 to 15 flowered inflorescence with obliquely infundibuliform, obtuse, shortly apiculate, carinate floral bracts.
