Found in northwestern Yunnan on grassy cliffs in forests at elevations around 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with oblong tubers giving rise to an erect, glabrous stem 2 basal, subopposite, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acuminate apically, amplexicaul base leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, short, single flowered inflorescence
