Found in southwestern Sichuan, northern Yunnan on grassy slopes and moss covered rocks in forests or along valleys or on grassy slopes at elevations of 1500 to 2700 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing terrestrial with ellipsoid tubers giving rise to an erect, slender, green stem carrying asingle, apical, erect, at the middle to lower of stem, linear-lanceolate, to broadly linear, sessile leaf that blooms in the later spring and early summer on a terminal, erect, [2 to 4.5 cm] long, 4 to 9 flowered inflorescence
