Common Name or Meaning Gilberto's Anacheilium [Colombian Orchid Enthusiast 20th cen]
Flower Size 1 1/4" [4.1 cm]
Found in Antioquia and Caldas departments of Colombia at elevations around 2000 to 2200 meters as a medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with cylindric, spindle shaped pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, leathery leaves that blooms in the winter, spring and early summer on a 4" [10 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying showy, fleshy flowers.
My orchid photo above was blooming in January 2016 on a cypress tree at elevations around 2200 meters within the municipality of Jardin Colombia.
