Common Name Gutfreund's Pleurothallis [Brazilian Orchid Enthusiast and Nurseryman current]

Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in Sao Paulo state of Brazil without locality as a mini-miniature sized, caespitose epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 whitish, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptic, acute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the early summer on a fascile of a few peduncles .24 to .28" [6 to 7 mm] long, successively single, sometimes 2 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bracts

"This small species is related to P helmutii , but differs with the inflorescence characterized by a fascicle of single-flowered peduncles about less than a .4" [1 cm] long. Although not seen, a second flower could sometimes be produced instead of an elongated filament. As in A. helmutii, the sepals and petals are narrow and pointed; the petals are microscopically pubescent; and the lip has basal, spiculate, uncinate lobes. Luer & Toscano 2011
