Found in Mato Grosso do Sul state of Brazil in bright, swampy forests at elevations of 300 to 400 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with ovate, laterally compressed pseduobulbs enveloped by deciduous sheaths and carrying a siongle, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic leaf that blooms in the spring on a terminal, erect, shorter than the leaf, racemose, 4" [10 cm] long, simultaneously few flowered inflorescence with inconspicuous floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers
