Found in Amazonas state of Brazil in dense rainforests at elevations around 118 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with erect, cylindrical ramicauls enveloped by 3 to 5, white to grey, close fitting, membranaceous, apex acute to acuminate, striate, margin entire sheaths carrying an erect, coriaceous, lanceolate to elliptic, pale green, coriaceous to slightly fleshy, glabrous, the apex minutely tridenticulate, margin entire, 11 nerved, acute, attenuate to obtuse below into the base leaf that blooms in the summer through mid fall on a terminal, erect, arises abaxially from the leaf; peduncle .08 to .2" [2 to 5 mm] long; rachis .4 to .28" [1 to 7 mm] long; sub-congested, successively single, to 5, pedicellate ovary 0.8–1.inflorescence with amplexicaul, membranaceous, apex acute to acuminate, margin entire as long to longer than the ovary floral bract.
"Anathallis roseopapillosa is morphologically related to P gracilenta Luer & R. Vasquez, but differs by having shorter racemes arising abaxially from the leaf with flowers opening one at a time (vs. longer racemes arising adaxially from the leaf with 2 to 3 flowers opening at a time), petals with papillose apex (vs. apex smooth), and lip oblong-elliptic to ovate-elliptic, often obscurely trilobed (vs. oblong-ligulate, entire)."
