Common Name or Meaning The Plum Tree Anacheilium [refers to the flowers color]

Flower Size 2.2" [5.5 cm]

Found in Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Panama in premontane rainforests in open canopies at elevations of 900 to 2100 meters as a medium sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with cylindric to narrowly ovoid, furrowed with age psuedobulbs enveloped almost completely in youth by several, imbricate, scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apical, elliptic-lanceolate, acute, basally clasping leaf and blooms in the fall through spring on a terminal, arising from a spathe on a newly matured pseudobulb, few [3 to 4] flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate flowers.
