Common Name The Small-Flowered Herminium - In China Xiao Dou Rui Lan

Flower Size small

Found in Japan and Taiwan in forests and alpine meadows at elevations of 2500 to 3500 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with an ovoid to globose tuber giving rise to an erect, slender stem with 1 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, ovate to oblong, obtuse, leaf that blooms in the early summer on an erect, rachis 1" [2.5 cm] long, 8 to 13 flowered infloresence with ovate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
