Found in Taiwan in broad leaved forests at elevations of 1900 to 2000 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with a creeping, fleshy, pale brown rhizome giving rise t oan erect to ascending, terete, fleshy, pale brown to plae purple, glabrous stem carrying 4 to 5, simple, alternate, ovate to brodly ovate, shortly acute and cordate basally, entire to slightly wavy margins, velvety dark brown, reticulate network of white nerves abovwe and purplish with 3 white veins beneath, glabrous, purple petiolate base leaves that blooms in the earlier fall on an erect, terminal, densely fine tomentose, scape 5.2 to 6.4" [13 to 16 cm] long, rachis 1.8 to 2.4" [4.5 to 6 cm] long, 5 to 8 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate to acute apically, hairy, somewwhat shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
"The species is closest to Anoectochilus kosunensis, but differs from it by its spreading sepals, especially the dorsal one; THE 3-lobeD lip and the rectangular lateral lobes that are .16 to .2" [4 to 5 mm] long, and about .12" [3 mm] wide, truncate at apex, with 4-shallowly lobes or filiforms at the margins; the midlobe with a short claw at the 2-lobed base."
