Found in Queensland Australia in shady locations within lowland rainforests at elevations of sealevel to 250 meters as a medium sized, hot growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial orchid without leaves that has an erect, 12 to 28" [30 to 70 cm] long, dark purple, white flecked, slender, fleshy stem that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, 6 to 12 flowered inflorescence
