Common Name The Ascending Baskervilla

Found in Colombia, Morona-Santiago and Zamora-cChinchipe provinces of Ecuador and Cuzco department of Peru on grassy banks in cool cloud forests, at elevations around 1150 to 1650 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with several, in a basal rosette, strongly oblanceolate-elliptic, acute to acuminate, velvety textured, narrowing below into the 3.6" [9 cm] long, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the early summer on an erect, terminal, peduncle to 10" [25 cm] long, terete, provided with 4 to 5, non-articulated, foliaceous, tubular, sheathing bracts, rachis to 8" [20 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
"This species resembles Baskervilla stenopetala but can be distinguished by the petiole of the leaf half the size of the blade and the middle lobe of the lip is oblong-obovate." Szlachetko & Kolanowska 2020
