Found in Madagascar and the Mascarenes in coastal, lowland and humid, evergreen, montane forests at elevations of sealevel to 2000 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a narrow, somewhat compressed, very short stem carrying 5 to 12 linear oblong,emarginate apically leaves that blooms in the late spring, summer fall on an 8" to 16" [20 to 40 cm] long, loosely, 5 to 12 flowered, racemose inflorescence partially enveloped by 5 very short sheaths.
