Found in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua at elevations around 1000 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with basal, elliptic, subacuminate, gradually narrowing below into the canaliculate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the early fall on an erect, terminal, glabrous below, pubescent above, somewhat purple, to 8.4" to [21 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence enveloped by a few inflated, bracts.
