Found in northwestern Madgascar and Reunion near shaded wet rocks at elevations around 2000 meters as a large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with 3 to 6, in the lower part of the stem, ovate to elliptic leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect to 12" [to 30 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence
