Found in northeastern Madagascar in woods on in moss forests at elevations of 500 to 1500 meters as a large to giant sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a stem carrying 3 to 4, lanceolate, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, provided with 1 to 2, linear, acute sheaths, 4 to 7.2" [10 to 18 cm] long, densely, many flowered inflorescence with very narrow, slightly longer than the floral bracts
