Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in very wet montane forests at elevations arouind 800 to 1200 meters as a miniature to small sized, pendant, warm to cool growing epiphtye with a very short stem enveloped completely by the bases of the leaf bearing sheaths and carrying, glaucous-green, oblong-elliptic, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on an axillary, single flowered, 3.2" [8 cm] long inflorescence carrying 1 to 2 adpressed, ovate bracts
